But Camila’s pals are worried that Shawn’s growing fame could interrupt this honeymoon phase. “Camila’s friends are happy she’s having such a great time with Shawn but they’re worried that she could be in a little bit of a danger zone with him just because of who he is,” one friend of Camila’s EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife. Acne is your skin’s reaction to a naturally occurring bacteria that’s on the surface of the skin. Everybody has these kinds of bacteria so the myth that people who suffer from excessive acne are somehow less clean is just that, a myth unfounded by science. In the case of the acne sufferer, Propionibacterium acnes is the one that will activate on the skin from its normally dormant state causing irritation and then a pimple. More specifically, it’s often hair follicles that become clogged with dead skin cells and oils and then become inflamed, not a good thing!

There are four key components to any good skincare routine and the first is cleansing.

Using a cleanser to remove excess dirt, grime, oil, bacteria, and other substances on the surface of the skin is going to be helpful.

Step 2 here is to moisturize, again, both in the morning and the evening.

Step 3 is treating the skin, which for men who are more prone to acne, is a two-fold process. The first part here is to exfoliate or use a product that will remove skin cells and buildup in the pores and the second part is to treat the skin with a product that will minimize the amount of bacterial growth on the surface of the skin. To focus in a bit more on exfoliation, there are two main kinds; physical exfoliation and chemical exfoliation. Physical exfoliation involves products that use granular particles to actually physically scrub the surface of the skin to remove dead skin cells. While this process can leave the skin feeling exceptionally smooth, it’s also easier to over exfoliate when using a physical product. This will create micro tears in your skin which may harbor more bacteria over time. Chemical exfoliation, meanwhile, uses, as you might have guessed, chemicals to remove these dead skin cells.

Step four is just about a mental attitude in how you really approach the process. Which is to say, it’s not going to be good enough to do the first three steps only a few times a week. You have to be diligent about this process and make sure that you’re doing all the steps as much as necessary. In most cases, twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening.

So with the basics of the routine out of the way, let’s now talk
about how to effectively choose your skin care products since there are thousands of skin care products on the market.

So then, let’s go over some of the main active ingredients in acne fighting products starting with salicylic acid.

This is also called beta hydroxy acid or BHA and it’s a chemical exfoliant that’s a derivative of aspirin. It has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help unclog your pores. Salicylic acid is also recommended for razor burn and ingrown hair sufferers for the same reason so it can also be used as part of a shaving routine. The next product is alpha hydroxy acid or AHA. It’s similar, as you might expect, to BHA but overall, it’s just a little bit less aggressive.

Next up are retinoids. This is the term for the family of powerful anti aging molecules derived from vitamin A. One more tip about retinoids is that they are best to be used at night because they can make the skin more susceptible to damage from the sun.

Next up is a classic anti acne ingredient, benzoyl peroxide. It works to reduce the acne causing bacteria on the skin and because it’s often found in high concentrations in some products, as much as five or ten percent, it can irritate the skin of some men. So as with retinol, it’s best to consult a dermatologist or start with a smaller or lower dose and work your way up over time as necessary.

Another key ingredient is sulfur. Sulfur is known for its acne fighting inflammation reducing and exfoliating properties so it’s often found in soaps and masks and other similar products where this famous smell is minimized.

A product that hasn’t traditionally been a part of many anti acne regimens is niacinamide, however, the product is anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and sebostatic which means it helps reduce surface oil on your skin.

Our final product here is azelaic acid which is a highly effective antioxidant known for its ability to reduce redness and acne in the skin by killing bacteria responsible for inflammation. Also, it’s more gentle on the skin than other exfoliants can be.

OMG! I HAVE ACNE AGAIN! | RealAsianBeauty Acne Update 2019

Hey, guys! As some of you may know, I have extremely sensitive skin. I sometimes sleep with clear skin and then wake up the next day with horrible acne breakout.

Some misconceptions about people with ACNE :
1. You wear makeup therefore you have acne breakout
2. You use too much products that why you get acne
3. You do nothing to your skin that’s why your acne doesn’t stop.

Truth is, there are all false. Wearing makeup does not always cause acne breakout AND not wearing makeup doesn’t guarantee you won’t have acne breakout, either.

Redefining Support for Families of Individuals with Autism | Kimberly Addon | TEDxQuinnipiacU

Kimberly talks about her older sister, Kayla, and how she has shaped her future. When Kayla was two years old, she was diagnosed with pervasive developmental disorder-not otherwise specified. Today doctors would diagnose her with autism. Kimberly is often asked what it is like to have an older sister on the autism spectrum and she has learned over the years that it is often easier to tell a quick funny story about Kayla rather than really digging into the tougher parts of having a sister with autism. It has taken Kimberly years to unpack some of the tougher memories and learn to love herself and her family, but she is grateful for the progress that she has made. The reality is, we all have good days and bad days, but that doesn’t make any of us less valuable as human beings. Kayla is no exception to that rule. As an occupational therapist, Kimberly outlines her proposal for supporting families of individuals with autism. Kimberly Addon is a graduate student at Quinnipiac University. Originally from Fair Lawn, New Jersey, she is the daughter of Edward and Barbara Addon and best friends with her sister, Kayla Addon. In May 2018, she graduated magna cum laude from Quinnipiac with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science Studies and a minor in Spanish. In January 2020, she will complete her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and prepare to take her national certification exam. Addon was inspired to pursue a career in occupational therapy after observing through the years how much these professionals helped her sister, who has autism. She served as one of the Quinnipiac delegates on the American Occupational Therapy Association’s Assembly of Student Delegates, a group that consists of representatives from every occupational therapy program in the country. She is also passionate about music, has played the drums for 15 years and is director of the Quinnipiac University Pep Band. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at

Julia :60 l Autism Awareness l Ad Council

Though autism can be reliably diagnosed as early as age 18 months, most children aren’t diagnosed until between 4 and 5 years old—and studies indicate that age is even higher for low-income and minority children. The new bilingual awareness campaign featuring Julia, a four-year-old Sesame Street Muppet with autism, promotes early screening and diagnosis, which can open a world of possibilities for the estimated 1 in 59 children with autism.

The multimedia campaign, including new video public service announcements, grew out of a partnership between the Ad Council, Autism Speaks and Sesame Workshop. The campaign stars Julia and her Sesame Street friends and family, helping parents to learn the signs of autism and understand the importance of early screening and diagnosis, ultimately making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with autism.

Depression, Anxiety, and Life | Q&A

How can those who are suffering from mental health issues in silence maintain a semblance of normal life?

Sabrina Ko asked: I commend those on the panel today who’ve spoken out suffering anxiety and depression – “the black dog”. I myself have suffered from anxiety and depression and am still hesitant of speaking openly about it in the workplace and further, feeling that being in a privileged situation with loving family, friends, a home, a job, living in a peaceful country, I don’t have a right to suffer from mental health issues. For those who are suffering from mental health issues in silence but still trying to maintain a semblance of normal life, do you think it’s responsible to continue to hold the positions you hold at work and carry on or would you say it’s your responsibility to withdraw from, well responsibility?

Q&A is a television discussion program that focuses mostly on politics but ranges across all of the big issues that set Australians thinking, talking and debating.

It is driven by interaction: Q&A provides a rare opportunity for Australian citizens to directly question and hold to account politicians and key opinion leaders in a national public forum and Q&A is broadcast live so that not only the studio audience but also the wider audience can get involved.

We aim to create a discussion that is constructive, that reflects a diverse range of views and that provides a safe environment where people can respectfully discuss their differences.

It’s impossible to represent every view on a single panel or in one audience but we’re committed to giving participants a fair go.

In order to be as inclusive and diverse as possible, the program is presented from a range of locations around the country and all Australians are encouraged to get involved through social media as well as by joining the audience.

This is an official Australian Broadcasting Corporation YouTube channel.
